Georgie, the only way I got news was to go to the parking lot where I keep my car and listen to the car radio. Recharged my cell phone that way too, plus got a burst of a/c for a while.

This is the third major blackout I have experienced in NYC, and it was by far the most calmly received by the residents. I've felt in the past few years that the city is quite a different place than it once was; the reaction to this situation proves it to me. Can you imagine: just over two dozen criminal (looting) problems in all five boroughs. The police were simply marvelous through the whole thing.
