I am a young one when it comes to serious wine drinkers(only 25 as of sunday). My father worked as a wine importer/salesman for most of my life so I grew up drinking wine with dinner. Sadly, I drank a LOT of wonderful wine at home and never took the time to learn why it was so good. It was only about a year ago that I REALLY got interested in wines. Since then, I've read "Wine for dummies," the "Wine Bible" and "Vino Italiano" cover to cover(and good portions of a few other books as well). I also have the pleasure to work at an Italian restuarant with a constantly changing wine list of seriously solid Italian wines.

On the side, I've been going to BYOB's with friends that also are intersted in wine, constantly drilling my father for more wine knowledge, and drinking a good deal of various wines to really see what is out there...

Which brings me to my point. I have always had a hunger for knowledge, and I do whatever I can to learn more about the things that interest me. Wine seems to be becoming more than just a passing interest, but rahter something I feel I will activiely spend years learing about. Everytime I try a wine, all I want to do is try 15 wines of the same style to compare that wine to.

So yeah, I am hooked. I have the wine bug. This is a good thing. I look foward to joining the ranks.
