Foodie, it was a carafe of Paul Masson rose. I guess the carafe will make a decent vase...Gene, I think the same thing could happen in NJ, although I'm not sure what the laws are. The thought of wine in school reminds me of a time when I was to attend an after school wedding shower for a colleague. Whatever dish I'd chosen to bring had wine in the recipe. I remember cooking it in the back of the room while the kids were at a special and hoping to heaven I wouldn't get caught with an open bottle of wine in the classroom!
And I guess I'm not as tough as I thought I was. When I came home and opened the rest of my gifts and read the very touching notes from parents and students, I did tear up. I had 22 perfect kids....only three baddies..but oh, those three!
