Since a couple of you were thoughtful enough to call and see if we're OK, it got me to thinking that perhaps I should just post a general "we're OK" message to others. For anyone who is interested in seeing just how close it came to our house, take a look at the map I link to below. On it, at the bottom, there is a green area which is Grant Park. Just to the left of the park, you'll see a grid of neighborhood streets. In that grid, south of I 20, between Grant Park and Hill Street (labeled on the map), you'll see a little 1-block street that looks like it divides a block in half. That's my street. So, really, the path the tornado took was just a few blocks away, and there is considerable damage outside of the direct path from flying debris.
