Back in my Coast Guard days when I moved across the country three or four times, I used to think of large sections of the West (in Nevada, Utah and New Mexico) as radio Siberia. As in exhiled from civilization.

All you could ever pick up were bible thumpers and s***-kicking music. I used to hit the scan button and see how many times it would go around before stopping. Almost drove off the road one time when I completely forgot the radio was even on and gospel suddenly came blasting out.

Now before everyone gets in a tizzy, I apologize if you happen to like country music or religion in it's evangelical broadcast form.

CDs are a godsend.
