Not from France but from Argentina.

Dark berry fruits like black cherry on the nose and the palate. Very dark color, deep ruby almost purple with tremendous clarity, this wine was a winner at my dinner table. Not only did I like it, but my wife also enjoyed the wine. She is not a great fan of dry red wines so I was surprised and pleased.

Went great with the beef cabbage soup I had for dinner.

For less than $10.00 a bottle, this wine was very decent indeed. Fruit upfront, acid in the middle and a slightly tannic finish.

Trumpeter 2000 Malbec, Familia Rutini Wines, Bodegas Rural, Argentina.

We are planning on either pot roast or corned beef this weekend. Whichever we choose the cooking liquid will include this wine. Then, we will also drink the wine with the meal.
