2000 Domaine De Fauterie

Demonstration of Syrah in more northernly areas. More focused and not as jammy as it's Southern countparts, shows good earthiness, nicely controlled wood, and a bit of bitterness and tartness at the end. Darker fruit a bit brooding but this is a more reserved wine. Could use a few years to come together but overall, a nice wine. Rougher tannins but decent. Great value for $15.99 per bottle but not for everyone.
