Went to see Penn & Teller at the Lyric House in Baltimore the other night; a very enjoyable show. Prior to the show Eileen and I went to Spike and Charlies which is a hip small restaurant in Baltimore with a food and wine matching theme. With their specialty thin crust pizza (mushrooms, bacon several white cheeses with blue cheese and very nice OO and several other herbs) matched with a fresh,mild Caesar salad, the above wine was a perfect match.
Beautiful dark purple with earth and herbs du Provence notes. Very earthy with creme de cassis flavors with a hint of milk chocolate and a good tannic bite - 20+ second finish. 13.5% Alc/Vol. A very nice evening made better watching Penn & Teller play with firearms!
