1997 Domaines Schlumberger, Les Princes Abbes, Vin D'Alsace, Riesling ($13). Lemony apples on the nose and upfront. Dry as a bone with earthy mustiness and splendid acidity across the palate, and bells and whistles on the finish. Matched delightfully with a smoked chicken, nuked zucchini, and garlic bread. Understand the '98 is even better. Could be the very best QPR in a Riesling D'Alsace.
