I had understood "hock" to be rather a generic term used in England for Rhein wines (I thought from the Rheingau region but it might extend to Rheinhessen also). The lambrusco reference is Greek (or Italian) to me. I used to enjoy an Italian lambrusco called Countess Matilda or something similar. I haven't had it recently.
