2001 Niersteiner Auflangen

A friend of mine gave me this and told me that he had just purchased this the other day. A 2001, huh? I was hopeful.

Yeap..its sweet. Sweeter than a Kabinett is suppose to be....but unfortunately, it was really only okay. A bit more acidity and a bit more alcohol (I think it was a 10% er) than others. I wasn't bad. It just wasn't very good. Nose was sweet and raisiny. Good color but taste was kinda flat despite some carbination still left in the bottle.
