There a couple of Champagnes that I really like. First though, I agree the ‘96 Dom isn't ready yet. It will be soon though.

For the bargain hunters, Mumm Napa Blanc de Noir is a great Sparkling Wine to have around. Rose in color, with a crisp acidity, it makes for a good (not spectacular) wine to have open.

Also from Mumm Napa, is Cuvee M. Another non-vintage cuvee, it is a little bit more on the off dry side with a 2% dossage. It is like having a mimosa without having to add any orange juice.

Getting away from California, on the French side I have always been a fan of the NV Perrier-Jouet Grand Brut. It resides in the $30-$40 but is a great bottle.
