I opened up this wine last night, having bought it solely on WS' 90 point score, also including it in the top 100 of '02.

Terrible. While I respect the differences of tastes people have, I can't remember disagreeing with a review so viscerally before, I couldn't get through more than one glass. My friend who was sharing the bottle with me felt the same way. Funky head, barely noticeable dark fruit buried under layers of dirt ("earth" if you must, but I've had good earthy wines, and this ain't it) and gravel.

This was actually my first Chilean wine, and its a shame it turned out so bad. Are these flavors indicative of Chilean Cab in general? Or is this just one bad WS review?
