A blend of old vine Carinena, Syrah, and Garnacha from the Montsant region, which borders Priorato. Falls into the "great Spanish value" pile, with an inky color, nose of crushed black and red berries, earth, and spices, and flavors of dark fruits with a trace of minerality. Hearty and robust, and a great choice for much winter fare -- grilled or roasted meats and/or game, stews, etc. Runs about $12. Alc. 14.5%. FWIW, RP gave it a 90.
