Hi Likesred, and welcome to the Wine Board. Hopefully when you pull that long cork, the rest of the crap will come out with it. If not, clean the neck out best you can with a thin, absorbant cloth wrapped around the narrow handle of a wooden spoon. If you had let the bottle stand upright for a week or so, the rest of the sediment should have migrated to the bottom of the bottle. Pour a little out into a drinking glass. If der craben still comes outen, pour a little more until, hopefully, it runs clear, at least as clear as port runs. Run what is in the glass through a filter, into YOUR port glass. Pour the rest, very carefully, for your guests.

Now you know why it is traditional to whack the whole neck off with a sword.
