I thought that Foodie was the only Cuckoomonger around here.......

97 Geyser Peak Winemaker's Selection, from 100-year-old Cucamonga vines, D'Ambrosia Ranch. 700 cases, and a fairly lofty price tag of $30. The wine IS beautiful, $30 beautiful? Well, you be the judge. Huge, complex, jammy, intense fruit of boysenberries and plums, a light hand on the oak, with subtle vanilla spice that accentuates the wine. The tannins are pretty obvious, but the wine is so big that they do not overpower the wine. The
aftertaste goes on and on and on like the Eveready Bunny (or Randy talking about his gout). It took an hour for the wine to strut its stuff, then whamo, it shakes your taste buds into the 21st Century. A Sharon Stone wine with a Rosanne Barr price tag.
