My advice--find a new friend! [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/biggrin.gif[/img] He should be helping you drink them!

Both of these are still available at retail stores. The Matanzas Creek can be had for $60, and the Groth for $40. I've seen both recently.

I do like Matanzas Creek merlots, and have several different vintages of them going back to 1990, but they have become overpriced, IMHO. If, as your question suggests, you don't know too much about wine, I'd save your money and do some experimenting with some cheaper libations. We have lots of opinions around here.
