The Wolftrap 2008 - this Rhone like blend is superb. It is a favorite in my house!! I ran across this wonderful wine in Elkton, Maryland at a place known as State Line Liquors.

I was looking for GSM and was directed to another nice wine name of Stump Jump. Then I was directed to The Wolftrap from South Africa. Not a GSM said the gentleman helping me, but a pleasing blend, believe me!

The 2008 is 68% Syrah, 30% Mourvedre, and 2% Viognier.

I don't drink this juice, I savor each sip. I let it rest in my mouth, I gently swirl it around and savor it a bit more before slowing swallowing. A meal in a bottle - Wow!

My nose tells me fruity, earthy and spicy and my taste buds back that up! Nice smooth mouthfeel, a bit of a pucker and a very slight velvety finish. In between a dance of flavors between the fruit and the spice.

It is $15 the bottle at Vino 100 here in Virginia Beach. I have not looked for it elsewhere in Virginia Beach. It was a couple of dollars less in Maryland; State Line is a discount store.

Now if I could just find some Stump Jump red down here, I'd really be happy.
