The DOCG is a means of alerting you to the quality of the wine. It means that the wine meets certain quality requirements in accordance with Italian law. DOCG is Denominazione di origine controllata e garantita. The "Garantita" means that the wine adheres to stricter rules. The serial number is just a part of the DOCG designation for the wine and has no other special meaning that I am aware of.

The "Classico" means that the wine is from a restricted zone usually in the heart of a wine area.

The Chianti Classico DOCG is located in the "heart" of Tuscany in west central Italy. The zone is located between Florence to the north and Siena to the south.

Chianti is a red wine based on the Sangiovese grape with a bit of Canaiolo, Trebbiano and Malvasia along with up to 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot or other red varieties. It is a fruity full-bodied wine that goes well with roast pork and grilled steak.

I have not found any information on the producer, if I do I'll add the information on. Nor do I have any immediate information on the vintage other than 1967, 1968, 1971 and 1978 were apparently good years for Chianti Classico. But that information comes from my research, not my experience.

If the wine has been stored properly all these years it could be drinkable. The only way to know for sure would be to try it.
