IK, I found some more info on the Internet. I had the first vintner's name wrong, VI for Diego Visconti, CA for Carlo Cassinis and RA for Domenico Ravizza. I believe it was Domenico Ravizza who was at the wine dinner as winemaker.
Try http://www.enotecaderham.com/wines/vicara/vicara.htm. It is quite informative and says the trade-marked Rubello is a truly elegant and noble wine. It gives the percentages as 95% Barbera and 5% Cabernet but the vintage we drank was perhaps 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

For amusement try the "English" translation on this website: http://www.lavinium.com/italiano/rubvic97 (talking about the 97 Vicara Rubello which they rated 86.) The translation is a mix of garbled English and Italian which does call it a great piemontese wine.
