We've had some mixed success with Pinot from outside the "usual" areas, including a wonderful hit with a 1999 Rene Mure Clos St. Landelin Pinot Noir from Alsace to a terrible miss with a Romanian Pinot that my brain has worked to erase from memory, much like it would with, say, a childhood incident with a knife-wielding maniac clown or something. We've only had a couple of Spatburgunders, however, and I only remember one, which was light and somewhat dilute in flavors. I always intend to do more exploring, then forget about the notion. Thanks for the notes.
