Hello Ania, and welcome to the Wine Board. Do not have a lot of experiance of matching wine with potatoes, mashy or otherwise, but think you should flip flop your whites. Go with a Macon Village with the mashies, and a Pouilly Fume or Bordeaux Blanc with the fish. This will keep your body "rule" in order. On the other hand, rules are made to be broken. The acid in the sauvignon blanc will do a better job with the herring dish with sour cream than a chardonnay which is low in acid.
The Masi would be fine with the breaded chops.
