Had picked this up at the discounter to try with pork, and gave it a shot last night. Bright red berries on the nose, more on the palate touched with white pepper and spice, giving way to a moderate finish. Alcohol of 14.5% and price of about $20.

The 2-inch thick pork loin fillets were dusted with white pepper, garlic powder and onion powder and grilled over oak coals. Served with russet spuds and green beans almondine, and finished with pumpkin pie. Yum!
