I have had a couple of different roses from Anjou, and they were both more than a bit sweet. Definitely not my cup of tea (so to speak), I have given up on the appellation. If you expect something close to a rose from provence I think you will be disappointed. As for pairing: well, farmer cheese maybe. Or, if I were given a bottle by a friend who can't read my signals, I might try it with Thai food or something similar in spice/heat - although I would still bring a backup bottle of something else.
