With the Loring mailer in hand, I decided I needed to open an infant to reaffirm my commitment to the varietal. It was a smart move on my part. :-)

Deeply concentrated fruit of raspberry and blackberry and a touch of clove, with a very long finish that has a touch of vanilla oak. A fair amount of heat that seemed to subside as the wine got more air; enough that it was a little concerning.

I had opened another bottle of Burgundy that was corked, so this guy was called into action without having time to breath. As the evening wore on, the wine opened into a lovely expression of Cali Pinot. Very highly recommended, but needs a couple years to resolve. It should be outstanding.
