I was looking at April issue of "Food and Wine" (several issues given to me by a friend--I no longer subscribe to it). It had a feature on 50 wines $20 or less that are reliable and available. They included the Clos du Bois Pinot Noir at around $20 so I may give that a try. I have liked some of the Clos du Bois Chardonnay in the past.
They included some of the wines we have mentioned here previously such as Bogle Old Vines Zinfandel, Rancho Zabaco Heritage Vines Zinfandel, Hess Select Cabernet Sauvignon (as good QPR even if over $20), etc. Among the other wines over their price point that they mentioned as reliable and worth their price was the Merry Edwards Klopp Ranch Pinot Noir at $51.
