1996 Chateau Montrose

ok, so i just spent the most i've ever spent on a bottle of wine outside of a restaurant: $65 for a bottle of this bordeaux from a shop in missouri. i think i got a great deal. WS gave this wine a 95 and my regular shop, which has great prices, sells this for $99.

my question: since i'm only buying one bottle of this, i can't afford to open this way too early or way too late. any advice on when to drink this or what i can expect?
