Agree with Foodie, but only for tradition. We serve red and white zinfandel every year, because zin came to America untaged and was named in California, making it the closest thing we have to an American varietal. Therefore Mother and me drink red zin, and our kids will only drink white zin.

Having said all that, if you must drink a foreign wine on this All American holiday, the Nouveau goes a long ways to being the perfect pick when you look at all the arguments.
