Is it safe to creep back into this conversation? Nancy's making me blush, and I've just removed the wineboard icon from my desktop (in case the missus accidentally clicks on).

But seriously... again:

1. I believe that if a woman is going through some moderate trauma or bad period, it's always best to practice the art of listening first, and turn on some LOW key charm at the appropriate moments (it seems that most of the women I've known have troubles).

2. In this instance, I also alway say Pinot Noir -- even in Italian restaurants -- since Pinot Noir is a red wine varietal with the type of velvet texture and lingering, palate sinking flavor that seems to bring out some depth of feeling. She'll FEEL your sympathy and understanding (presuming you have it), which naturally should lead to...

Aw shucks, I'm dreaming out loud again... aren't I, Nancy? Oh well, good luck on that eventual date!
