Michele-Schlumberger La Brume Chardonnay '02
From Dry Creek Valley

Granny smith apple mixed in with Bartlett pear with a touch of oak on the nose. The palate has much of the same with some vanilla sneaking in there. The wine really impresses me as the fruit is coming off so fresh and then layers itself with the oak and malo to become a complete, complex package. After awhile, the oak really integrated itself with the fruit. Had this with my wife over a 2 hr period. Great balance, beautiful texture. I'm not great at guessing ageability of white wines, but my guess is this will be showing great for the next 2 - 5 yrs or longer. I scored this 91 - 94 pts. The varied score is because I'm unsure of the ageability.
