1997 Goosecross Cellars Chardonnay; Napa Valley - $21.00

Brassy, yellow color. Nose full and delicious with wonderful scents of fresh apple, pear and honey topped off with a hint of cream and touched ever so delicately with smoke. On the palate, a wonderful drink which is superbly balanced with crisp apple and pear flavors brought into focus with honey and cream. The oak is perfectly in check and it’s use is perfect so as to accent the fruit’s qualities. Refreshing, absolutely enjoyable to drink and should age well with it’s excellent balance.

I have always appreciated Geoff Gorsuch’s Chardonnays. He delivers what I consider to be an excellent balance of tradition coupled with ripe California fruit to deliver a super wine.
