Had a full blown BAWDIES meeting yesserday at the club.Started with a Clos Du Val 1997 Vineyard George the 3rd. Must say this is the best wine I've experienced from Bernies' plot in Stags Leap. Then on to the the Piemontese of Erichs' that I posted on earlier this week. Then we had a Marvelous 1997 Quail Ridge ' Volker Eisele ' vineyard, a killer bottling. Then adjourned to my home where we started with a 91 Beringer Reserve. This wine is at the top of its' game. Darkcherry, great nose accented by vanilla and all-spice with cassis under. Super drink.Next took on a 94 Duckhorn Napa that showed very well. Brite clear ruby with the nose brimming with fruit. Lastly, we had a 96 Ch. St. Jean Cinq Cepages. No doubt about it, this is the best Cinq I've had, and maybe in another 2-3 mite justify all the Expectorator hype. All-in-all a very nice afternoon.WW
