I realize that anyone who has even remotely paid any attention to my posts or TNs would be puzzled as to why I'm posting on a cab. However, I found this cab on a rec from a real cute young lady at a new local wine bar/shop, and seeing as I only have 4 cabs in a 3/4-full 220-bottle cellar, I thought, "Why not try it." Plus, WW has been virtually the only poster in the Cab forum in the past month.

Wow. Yum.

I'll leave it to true cab guys like WW to give a better sense of how something like this may or may not age, but this is drinking very soft and flavorful for such a young cab.

Dark color. Floral nose that reminded me of a lilac bush (though that is more of a white wine descriptor, so maybe I'm thinking of violet -- I need to get out to the Botannical Gardens). It WAS floral, though! Soft, blackberry, licorice, and euclyptus flavors, held together by sweet vanilla. Soft tannins, medium weight. The licorice lingers a bit on the finish, and some cherry flavors seem to appear. Alc. at 13.5%, but not present. Decanted 30 min. Paid $14 for it. Yep. That'll be knocked down when I return for a case and get my 10% discount.

This is a second label Regusci, which means little to a non-cab guy who last had a Napa wine in, hmmmm, don't know. A brief 'net search gives me the idea that it is an old family winery.

I would love other's input on this. I have no idea why it's so yummy and so young. I have no idea whether it may only get better after a few years. Thoughts?
