Here are my humble if not brief notes on these wines:

1. Dehlinger Syrah. Deep, complex, very ripe fruits. some spiciness. very
> smooth finish with no bite.
> 2. Caymus. much 'sweeter' than the syrah, fruity and smooth.
> 3. St Clement.Black fruits and vanilla.
> 4. Burgess-blend.a complex blend, not able to pick out any specifics.
> 5. Sandeman Port. so smooth. very sweet, not quite cloying, sticky. one
of
> the most memerable of the afternoon.
