1996 Kenwood, Cabernet Sauvignon, Artist Series, Sonoma County, $70, 3,790 cases. Very dark ruby in the glass, with french vanilla oak and black fruit aromas. Very elegant and balanced on the palate, with loads of blackberry fruit and french oak flavors. Silky tannins are appreciated on the long, fruity finish. Place this on the shelf with the other CA “cult classics.”
