Bucko,

Thinking further about it, my question really becomes rhetorical. Shafer's mailing congratulates me on being moved from the waiting list to the mailing list, and the first offer to me is the 2000 Merlot. However, if I fail to take advantage of the offer by October 31, 2002, my name will be removed from the mailing list. So, I have three weeks to decide if I want to buy a Merlot I don't want so I can have the opportunity to buy a wine I can't afford. No brainer there.
