When I said the '94 was 'long gone' I meant my stash and supply. The wine itself is no where near long gone as posted earlier. In retrospect the '94 Soverain Reserve was probably arguably the best wine I've drank in the last year, it was THAT good.
As for the '92 what I've had was recently purchased from the winery so while the provenance is probably much better than what you would expect from a wine that sat in a discount wine store for 4 years, it's probably not quite 'cellered from release' good so I would expect while my bottles are ready "right now" properly cellered ones should go quite a bit longer.
I certainly agree with Innkeeper about the value of what is "there" vs. what might be. I've really been trying to trim my wine expenditures lately but not the quality of my wine experiences.
Is it just me or anybody else who does the Napa/Sonoma/Alexander tour regularly notice the increased offerings from prior vintages since the '98s came out?
Silverado was selling their '92 regular bottling a few months back, picked up a threesome, goooood stuff. ;-)
