Hi Wine Novice (better than idiot), and welcome to the Wine Board. A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc would be fine. I prefer those from Hawks Bay to those from Marlbourgh, but go with later if you can't find the former. Don't get anything older than 2001, and unless you like to spend money, you don't need to pay more than $15 (and preferably less).
