PW,

I've said it before and I'll say it again: wine is not health food.

All this nonsense about this or that substance helps this or that problem truly misses the nature and essence of wine, and if people drink wine because of a news report about its health benefits, they aren't well endowed in the brain department.

I remember back in the 80s when the French Paradox was reported on 60 Minutes. One day, while I was in a retail shop trying to pry the proprietor away from the Lotto machine to sell him wine, a man came into the shop and asked for six bottles of red wine. When asked which red wine he wanted the man said that it didn't matter--he saw 60 Minutes and needs red wine every night!

Idiocy.
