Hi Flash, and welcome to the Wine Board. Be sure the words "Natural Ingredients Added" are nowhere on the box. These so-called "natural" additives have no health values what-so-ever. If you find such a box, the red wine inside should be somewhat sweet. The reason is that at this time almost all boxed wine is plonk, so they leave some sweetness in it to please you. There are a handful of producers here and abroad that are attempting to market high quality wine in a box. Unless the box costs upwards of $30, you have not stumbled upon one of those.

You can buy red wine in tiny 187 ml bottles. Those by Sutter Home, have a little sweetness in them. Once you empty these bottles (keep the tops), you can refill four of them from one full bottle. Then find a sweet one you like, such as a Lambrusco, and you will be in business.
