Not sure where you live but you might take the bottle back to the winery--have the owner sign it and you have a collector's item (you said it was their first vintage)--good for your display shelf, not for drinking.

Or you can offer the bottle to winery for their display shelf--you would be suprised how many new wineriers fail to keep bottles of their first vintage and wish they had some in later years--again not to drink, but for historical purposes.
