In today's Wall Street Journal (6/1/00) there is a strong editorial ("Those Musty Wine Laws") attacking Senator Hatch's "Twenty-First Amendment Enforcement Act", as well as the whole 3-tier, wholesaler-dominated wine distribution system.

Their main point: "Favoring in-state economic interests over out-of-staters directly violates the commerce clause."

This has "Supreme Court case" written all over it.

The editorial ends by saying "...it's now time to free winemakings's legal and legitimate entrepreuners."

Amen. Kudos to the WSJ.

Cheers,

Scoop
