As someone in the wine industry on the sales side for a few years I think we have not done our job properly when it comes to educating the public with respect to sparkling wines. I love bubbles! Sweet, dry, fat, lean, you name it!

My Bro-in-law, who has been a restauranteur for 18 years recently invited me and extended family members to one of his restaurants for dinner. As always, I bring the wine to help off-set the cost to him.

I brought two bottles of bubbly and then the usual white and reds. As soon as he saw the bubbly he said "What's the occasion?" and my response was "I don't need an occasion to drink Champagne".

I think everyone at the table still thinks I'm nuts, but they certainly enjoyed the wine and it paired beautifully with the food.

Long live the Bubbles!!
