Commercial wines stored in stainless steel vessels are sometimes flavoured by adding oak chips. Wine legislation in Australia certainly allows this whereas legislation in France certainly prohibits it.

Can anyone tell me whether it is allowed in USA, Canada, Italy, Spain?
