Anne and I were lucky enough to score free tix to this event, held last Saturday night at the Intercontinental Hotel. In all, we tasted about 35 different wines. I didn't take detailed notes, but I lumped many into the different categories below. Prices are local, when indicated.

Best of tasting (in no particular order):
Tattinger Prestige Rose ($70)
Bollinger La Grande Annee ($112)
Lanson Noble Cuvee
Pol Roger Brut 1996 ($84)

Best QPR (again, in no particular order):
Besserat de Bellefon Rose ($43)
Besserat de Bellefon Brut ($40)
Mailly Grand Cru Brut ($44)

Most fun to drink:
Moet Chandon Nectar Imperial (sec -- would be a delightful dessert wine) ($40)

Disappointments:
Deutz Blanc de Blanc 1996 ($80)
Diamant Bleu Gran Cru 1996 ($110)
Most of the whole Gosset lineup

Best consistency (2 or more wines tasted):
Moet Chandon
Tattinger
Bollinger
Mailly
