2009 Kenzo Estate Ai
Bordeaux Blend but 84% cab.

tightly knit, very oaky, cranberries, crisp, austere, very oaky, medium body, quite acidic, very oaky.... you get the picture...

I mean it is not a bad wine, it is in fact rather drinkable, but..and here is its biggest issue. It is not a great wine, not every a very good wine,.....and yet it is asking $250 a bottle. I give it that it may have been a bad bottle and that it may be me, but an experienced friend had the exact same opinion. We even asked for a second sample from a separate bottle,

Like the SB i posted on today, I think it is an issue of expectation. Beautiful winery, Abreu/Barrett team, $250 price tag,..... if it was anywhere near a very good, wine, we would have given it the benefite of the doubt. In this case, I'm not sure that there is enough wine for the oak to absorb....Not sure what this will look like in the future.
