Hi Martin and welcome to the Wine Board. Verdelho is a Portugese white grape grown primarily on the island of Madeira. It is also grown in the Douro region or Portugal and in Galacia. It is also produced as a white wine in a couple of Australia's wine regions. The grape Verdelho Tinto (a dark skinned grape) is the basis of the exquisite dessert wine know as Madeira.
