This wine is certainly made in the same style that it has been for years, a very balanced wine. Nose of brighter red fruits up first before noticing the deeper darker berries. You notice the acidity, structure, and tannic grip up front before moving back to the red and dark fruits on the wine, a hint of austerity midpalate but that allows you to see the crunchiness and chewiness of the wine. While not as good as the 1996, this is a very nice and very balanced wine that I could pull out for any dinner
