Hi, all, new to the forum....
I am in the market for an interim solution for wine storage. I drink 99% red wines, and am looking for storage in the 6 case range. I will probably store 2 cases of "drink now" wines (mostly cabs, some pinot, some zin), and about four cases of wine for aging (primarily CA Cabs and some bordeaux.)
Danby makes a 75-bottle cellar that is priced right, and seems to get decent reviews (with all the caveats of a unit that is more a fridge than a purpose-built wine storage unit.) My main question is about noise. Does anyone here have a Danby unit that can comment on how noisy it is? The location I'm planning on is in my home office (which already has some computer noise), and I want to be sure that I won't be putting in a unit that will drive me nuts as I'm on the phone quite a bit.
If anyone has comments on the noise issue, and any other comments about these units, I would be very appreciative.
Thanks in advance, and thanks for all the information that is shared here (been doing quite a bit of reading on this lazy Sunday.)
Cheers,
Rich G.
