Just got an email from Wine Enthusiast. they're having a minor sale on Eurocave. The 170 is $1020 off. Still sounds like an awful lot of money to store wine, though. Fortunately, I have a nice little enclosed space in the north facing corner of the cellar that can hold up to 1300 bottles. The current temp is 55, and it goes up to about 60 in the middle of the summer.
